Round table discussion and concert in honor of choreographer/ dancer Molnár István


Molnár István (1908-1987) was a Kossúth Award winning choreographer, dancer, folk dance researcher. He laid the foundations for contemporary Hungarian folk dance research, developing his concept on the example of Bartók’s and Kodály’s folk music research. He was committed to presentation of original folk dance preserving its improvisational character. His goal was to develop a dance language summing up the absolute world of form in traditional dance.
