FONÓ30 Jubilee: Dresch Mihály Alternatív Quartet, guest: Borbély Mihály – Dél-Alföldi Szaxofonegyüttes – Csoóri family

It has been thirty years since Fonó Budai Music Hal first opened its doors. Over the decades, Fonó has become one of the most important venues for Hungarian and international folk, world, and jazz music – a space where tradition and contemporary thinking are deeply intertwined. The FONÓ30 jubilee series captures the essence of these three decades, featuring returning masters, iconic performers, and intergenerational dialogue.

The opening night of the jubilee series welcomes performers who have been closely connected to Fonó for many years and have played a defining role in Hungarian musical life.

Dél-Alföldi Szaxofonegyüttes

Since the mid-1990s, Dél-Alföldi Szaxofonegyüttes has been a defining formation in Hungary’s free jazz scene. Their music seamlessly blends folk influences with the free organization of sound. Their return to Fonó is a true moment of jazz history.

Csoóri family

When Fonó first opened thirty years ago, both Csoóri Sándor and Csoóri Sándor Jr. were among the guests. A generation has passed, yet the family’s musical legacy remains vibrant. It is a moving and special occasion to welcome them back to the stage for this anniversary.
