Ethnotech x Fonó: Itinera

The next stop of the ETHNOTECH world music series.

Itinera is a duo inspired by Hungarian folk music, world music, electronics, and pagan dark folk. Layered vocal mantras, looping patterns, and the pulse of the shamanic drum invite listeners into a ritual, trance-like dance experience. Their music is rooted in the belief that facing ourselves and accepting our darker sides can make us better people, and helps us build a better world. Their sound is often compared to artists such as Heilung, Dead Can Dance, and Eivør.

The band was founded in 2022 by Anett Horváth and Ádám Nagy, who decided to channel their decades of songwriting and stage experience into a new musical direction. In early 2023, Itinera began touring активно, including a performance at the Fekete Zaj Festival. That September, they released their debut EP Aurora, which was also presented to international audiences on a Czech–French mini tour. In 2024, they released two singles, Békélj meg and Csillag fénye, Holdnak fénye, the latter accompanied by a striking music video. In April, they performed at the Tallinn Music Week showcase festival, and later that year were selected for the Petőfi Nagylemez Program, receiving support to produce their first full-length album. In the autumn, they opened for the Siberian band Nytt Land. In 2025, they continued touring, played before The HU in Slovenia, and appeared at several festivals, including Floating Castle (SI) and Middeleeuws Winschoten (NL). They were also invited to the Mastering the Music Business (RO) and Waves Vienna (AT) showcase festivals. Their debut album, Kör, was released in October 2025.
