KOLO South Slavic Dance House
The main mission of the KOLO Ensemble is to collect, interpret, and present the folk music traditions of the South Slavic communities living in Hungary: Croats, Serbs, and Slovenes. Alongside this, the group naturally works with the music of the homelands as well, the peoples of the former Yugoslavia, and the folk music of other southern cultures, including Bulgarian and Greek traditions. Since its founding, KOLO has been an active and constant participant in the hungarian dance-house scene, and for more than 30 years it has been spreading South Slavic folk culture through its regular weekly and monthly appearances across the country. Through tours in Hungary and abroad, they have brought South Slavic folk music to audiences across Europe, as well as Africa, the Americas, and Asia. . The programs include folk music concerts, dance houses, and combined concert and dance house events.
