Reni & Boka: Forrás - Album Release Concert

An invitation.

On a pebble-strewn morning by the Danube in the spring of 2022, we suddenly realized… or rather, felt a shiver run through us: lyrics and music were flowing between us straight from a heavenly tap. Unstoppable.

These songs, like slow-moving, patient water, carved their path from source to sea. Within us, around us, and now they are ready to do the same within you. Some of them we guided into a studio, seasoned with playfulness of the present, listened to them until they were almost unlistenable, worried over them, then fell in love with them all over again. And now we would like to present them to you at the first major concert of our first full-length album, on March 19, on the stage of Fonó.

Although we started the album as a duo, it becomes whole in the company of our friends. On this evening, our guests will be:
Kató Mákó (Barakoo African Drum Circle, Kollár Klemencz Kamarazenekar),
Kata Mónus (Mehana),
István Rimóczi (Bélaműhely),
and Tamás Szabó Tavken.

This album could never have been born without the supporters of last year’s Forrás tour and the online fundraising campaign, so feel it as your own, because you are part of it. We are also grateful to the NKA and the Hangfoglaló Program for their support, and to Fonó for hosting us.

The Iszlai Reni - Szász Márk Boka duo was formed in the Danube Bend in 2022. Their shared musical world is shaped by polyphonic singing, instrumental improvisation, and abstract storytelling. Reni comes from a classical and contemporary music background, while Boka builds on African, Brazilian, and Cuban influences. Reni is a clarinetist trained at the Liszt Academy, an award-winning creator with multiple scholarships, the originator of interactive music programs, and a member of Bélaműhely. Boka is a world-traveling musician, participant in international collaborations, composer, and leader of improvisational singing circles.

In 2025, the duo won the Öröm a zene talent competition, and in 2026 they became supported artists of the NKA Hangfoglaló Program.
