Szodé + The Keeymen

Two bands, one shared intersection: instinctive, physically charged instrumental music. Repetitive pulse, open forms, folk and underground roots articulated through contemporary sound. This time Fonó becomes a space for border-crossing, open-ended musical thinking.

Szodé

Ádám Mészáros is one of the most wide-ranging Hungarian guitarists of the past two decades. His genre-hopping career has taken him through pop-rock (Péterfy Bori & Love Band, Amorf Ördögök, Erik Sumo Band), the worlds of avant-garde jazz and free music (Jü, Qiyan, Jazzaj), and folk-rooted projects where he plays a defining role (Tariqa, Said Chalaban, Mabon Dawud Republic). He also enjoys crossing into other art forms, including theatre and film music (Krétakör, Stars of Little Importance soundtrack).
His new band, Szodé, is not just a cross-section of his career but a true synthesis of styles. The other members of the group are András Halmos (Tariqa, ex-Jü, etc.), Ábel Horváth (Siketfajd, HoMoLu), and Márton Csernovszky (OOO, Mordái, Kinetic Erotic).

Line-up:
Ádám Mészáros - guitar, percussion
András Halmos - drums
Ábel Horváth - guitar, percussion
Márton Csernovszky - bass guitar, electronics

The Keeymen

The Keeymen is an instrumental surf supergroup formed in 2013. The members are also known from projects such as Néhai Bárány, Bozo, The Punch, and Padkarosda. The band quickly secured a solid place in Budapest’s alternative club and festival scene, becoming regular performers across the city.

They have shared the stage with many well-known acts (including Carson Coma, Csaknekedkislány, The Qualitons, Ricsárdgír, Dope Calypso) at some of Budapest’s most prominent venues (A38, Akvárium, TOLDI, Dürer Kert, Pontoon, Turbina, Gólya) and at popular underground festivals (Kolorádó, Bánkitó, Ubik, Fekete Zaj, TILOS Marathon, KERET).

Their second album, 2, was released in 2021. In 2024 it was followed by an EP themed around the four seasons, and the band is also currently recording an album based on Moldavian Csángó melodies. One of their main goals is to bring their music to a wider audience, both in Hungary and internationally.
