Mikor megyek hazafelé (On my way home)

After working together for nearly 30 years, Szokolay Dongó Balázs and Fábri Géza got together at Szokolay Dongó Balázs’s peasant house in Tótkomlós, Hungary to make this recording.

Both musicians have consistently followed their own interpretation of folk music. The vocal and instrumental tunes are performed with the improvisation that comes naturally in peasant music, while developing their music further in the wider circle of free improvisation with composed melodies. Through this conscious undertaking, the two musicians find a deeper level of connection to peasant melody by forming a new musical world in a natural environment.
